Transforming Markets Need Transforming Events - How companies identify opportunity and adapt to suit

Mr. Nelson Chow, Partner, Performance Improvement Advisory, Ernst & Young Advisory Services Limited

Disruption brings both risk as well as great opportunity, identifying these market shifts and taking the right steps to meet that opportunity is the key to building a successful event that meets the needs of the market as they change. In this presentation, Nelson will speak about the challenges of the exhibition and convention industry in recent years, such as digital disruption, global economic uncertainty, social unrest, clients opting for smaller and targeted events and will discuss steps companies take to overcome the difficulties and to create new opportunities.

Building an Invincible Exhibition Brand in an Uncertain World

Ms. Mandy Queen, Founder of Cred Communications

The Presentation will cover how to position your organisation as the voice of trust, credibility, and leadership during an issue or crisis; how to determine whether it is in fact a crisis, or an issue; the roles and responsibilities of your communications department before, during and after a crisis occurs; the importance of open communications between the marketing, media relations and social media marketing teams; and, how to be strategic when it comes to communicating about a crisis. Mandy will also share some interview tips for CEOs.

An All-Hazard Approach to Crisis Management

Mr. Pete Morgan, Leadership, Communication and Crisis Management Consultant, Speaker and Trainer

The adoption of an all-hazards approach to crisis preparedness and response is a best practice that ensures organisations put in place comprehensive measures to quickly and effectively respond and recover from a wide-range of likely crises or threats. An all-hazards approach also helps to build capacity and resilience by ensuring that responders are better able to quickly adapt their response to any new or emerging challenges. In this session, and drawing on his many years of critical incident and crisis management experience as both a front-line police commander and hostage negotiator, Pete will share how careful planning and preparation will help organisations to better respond and recover faster
